# Verify your account before first login

After you register, FormReceipt sends a verification email. You need to open that message and confirm your address before you can use the dashboard.

## What to expect

1. Register with your email and password.
2. Open the verification email and click the link.
3. Finish login and continue to your dashboard.

The verification link is valid for 24 hours.

## If login says your email is not verified

1. Go back to your inbox and search for "FormReceipt".
2. Check spam, promotions, and any company quarantine folder.
3. Use the resend option on login or register.
4. Wait around 3 minutes before requesting another resend.

## Verification email vs form deliverability

Account verification emails are separate from your website's outgoing contact emails. If contact-form emails fail inbox delivery, use [this deliverability guide](/docs/email-deliverability/spf-dkim-dmarc-together).
